Praying Together: Community Prayer Focus Weekly – City Wide

Imagine …

Imagine … Sunday mornings, 30 congregations praying in unity for a component of the Kingdom of God in our community – for blessing, healing and empowerment.

Prayer needs will include prayer for churches, community service groups, the homeless, seniors, those who don’t yet know Christ, civic leadership, parachurch organizations, education, the local economy, community needs and more …

What will it look like?

Each week Pray Ridge Meadows will suggest a need or topic. This may involve information, a website or short article.

Each church will devote 5 minutes in their Sunday morning worship to the need on our community. The need is introduced by a pastor, deacon or ministry leader (two minutes). The congregation then prays (three minutes). Depending on the culture of the church, the congregation could be led in prayer from the front.  It could be led by a PPT litany of prayer. It could invite the congregation into groups of 2 or 3 to pray more personally. It could provide guided meditation and silent prayer. It could rotate creatively between different forms of prayer. It could follow-up with a one-sentence testimony relating to an answer to the prayer need offered last week.

The Benefits…

We will be focused on our city which is our mission field.
We will be praying and deepening our congregations in prayer, corporately and personally.
We will be united, as the Body of Christ, the City Church as we intercede – to Christ’s glory.
We will be looking to God, the source of our salvation, strength and hope.
